The history of the Miao people is not written in books, it is stitched on fabric. With silk threads, Miao women have forever captured their ancestors'migrations, mythical totems, flowers, birds, mountains, and rivers on collars and sleeves. Every stitch tells a grand story of Miao history.

If embroidery tells a story of cultural riches, then the“ballet on cliffs”is a vivid portrayal of how the Miao people turn skill into fortune.
穿行在格凸河神秘的喀斯特洞穴间，总能看见一群峭壁上的“舞者”。几百年来，他们徒手攀岩，不是为了征服自然，而是为了与山共生。苗人徒手攀崖绝技源于数百年前苗家先祖为了躲避战乱迁居至此，在农闲时攀爬绝壁采挖中草药、捡拾燕粪换取生活之资，或悬棺于绝壁上。如今，这场惊心动魄的生存技艺已华丽蝶变为享誉全球的 “峭壁芭蕾” 。
Walking through the mysterious karst caves of the Getu River, you will often see climbers on the cliffs. For centuries, they have climbed bare-handed—not to conquer nature, but to live with it. This remarkable skill originated hundreds of years ago when Miao ancestors settled here to escape wars. In their spare time, they scaled cliffs to collect herbs and bat droppings to trade for a living, or to place hanging coffins on the precipices. Today, this thrilling survival craft has transformed into the world-famous“cliff ballet.”

在紫云，戏一开腔，就是千军万马。一招一式、尘土飞扬，仿佛在告诉我们，这方水土养育的，从来都是不败的英雄。地戏表演者戴着面具，用古老的方言唱腔演绎着金戈铁马的史事，每次铿锵起舞皆带着厚重的神秘感，让观众仿佛瞬间回溯到了英魂纵横的传奇岁月。
In Ziyun, as soon as the opera begins, it evokes the thunder of a thousand troops. With every vigorous move and rising dust, the land reminds us that it has always bred undefeated heroes. Masked performers chant ancient local dialects, telling epic stories of wars and warriors. Their powerful and mysterious dance transports the audience back to a legendary age of heroic spirits.

作为中国第一部苗族长篇英雄史诗，《亚鲁王》被列为2009年中国文化的重大发现之一，传唱着在苗人首领亚鲁王的带领下，西部苗人创世与迁徙征战的壮阔历史。一字一句，不仅是故事，是血脉；一唱一和，不止是表演，是信仰。这是紫云的心跳，是苗族人不灭的魂魄。
As the first long Miao heroic epic in China, King Yalu was recognized as one of the major cultural discoveries of 2009. It sings of the grand history of the western Miao people’s creation, migration, and battles under their leader, King Yalu. Every word is not just a story, it is bloodline. Every chant is not just a performance, it is faith. This is the heartbeat of Ziyun, the undying soul of the Miao people.

这支世世代代隐居于喀斯特腹地的蒙正苗族，至今仍保留着一整套完整的崇祖仪典。每逢祭祀，村民们踏着神秘而古朴的鼓点，模拟先祖征战与劳作的姿态，笙歌鸣响，敬拜起舞。这是对远古祖先最深沉的记忆与依恋，也是一部尘封了两千多年夜郎古国震撼人心的活态文化遗存。
The Mengzheng Miao people, who have lived for generations deep in the karst mountains, still preserve a complete set of ancestral rituals. During festivals, villagers follow ancient, mysterious drum beats, mimicking their forebears’fighting and working postures. Suona horns sound, and they dance in reverence. This is the deepest memory of and attachment to their ancient ancestors, and a stunning living cultural relic of the Yelang Kingdom, sealed for over 2,000 years.

在紫云，无鸡不成敬意，而无豆鸡则不成宴席。这道惊艳过无数非遗大集的“马料豆鸡”，取材于农家散养的土鸡切作鸡八块，配以饱满的黄豆，用柴火铁锅熬煮出香辣醇厚、勾魂摄魄的人间烟火气，更是紫云布依人家待客的礼节。
In Ziyun, no feast is complete without chicken. This“Soybean Chicken”(Maliao Dou Ji) has amazed countless intangible cultural heritage fairs. Made from free-range local chicken cut into eight pieces, simmered with plump soybeans, and cooked in an iron pot over a wood fire, it gives off a rich, spicy, soul-stirring aroma, representing the ultimate hospitality of the Bouyei people in Ziyun.

他们把历史绣在衣襟，把史诗唱进山谷，把信仰跳成舞蹈，把春天炒进茶叶，把日子熬成一锅浓香。要是赶上三月三，布依族姑娘们银饰碰撞的声音，就是这里最动听的BGM。
They embroider history onto collars, chant epics into valleys, dance their faith, fry spring into tea, and simmer daily life into a savory pot. And if you come during the Double Third Festival, the tinkling of silver ornaments on Bouyei girls will be the most beautiful background music you’ve ever heard.
